Are you searching for an outdoor adventure that the whole family will love? Wintertime in Michigan is perfect for planning exciting outings, particularly if you’re a fan of playing in the snow. There’s no shortage of sledding and tubing spots throughout the state, but one locale offers a chilly weather adventure unlike any other. Gather up a few loved ones and head out for an unforgettable time.
Hawk Island Park is located at 1601 E Cavanaugh Road in Lansing.
This year-round park offers fun in every season, whether you’re in the mood to enjoy a hike or searching for a peaceful place to unwind. When you arrive here, you’ll be enamored.
During warmer months, visitors will appreciate swimming areas and plenty of greenery — but we recommend dropping by to embrace the delights of Hawk Island Park in the snow.
That’s right: there’s something extra magical about heading to the park for a bit of downhill adventuring. Whether you’re a daredevil or a leisurely tuber, you’ll have a blast.
The hill at Hawk Island consists of multiple lanes specifically crafted for tubing, each stretching downward for 500 to 600 feet. Talk about a high-speed wintertime adventure.
There’s even an uphill lift to bring tubers back to the hilltop following each run. Hill access costs $11 per person for two hours, but there are discounts available for larger groups.
If that weren’t enough, rental tubes are provided by the park, so you’ll never have to worry about bringing along your own equipment. Enjoy a carefree day of outdoor fun.
When you’re through, cozy up with hot cocoa, coffee, or snacks from an on-site concession stand. It’s nearly impossible to have a bad time when you head to Hawk Island Park.
