The Dorr E. Felt Mansion is located at 6597 138th Ave in Holland.
Whether you’re a history buff, an interior design fanatic, a lover of all things antique, or simply a curious explorer, you’ll enjoy checking out this sprawling Michigan estate.
While the Felt Mansion now serves as a popular wedding and special event venue, its past is fascinating. The home was constructed by millionaire Dorr E. Felt in the mid 1920s.
Following the estate’s completion in 1928, it remained in the Felt family until 1949. It went on to serve as everything from a seminary housing to a State of Michigan prison.
Today, visitors can partake in fascinating tours of the grounds. Through Labor Day, the estate is open for self-guided exploration every Monday-Wednesday between 1 and 4 p.m.
Admission costs $15 for adults and $12 for children. A docent and welcome desk area will be available on-site to answer any questions about the Felt Estate and its rich history.
In addition to masterfully crafted bedrooms, a ballroom, stunning woodwork, and more, visitors can also check out the on-site chapel and rolling acreage around the mansion.
As you stroll through the grounds, you’ll feel like you’ve landed in a Gatsby-era wonderland. There’s no better way to enjoy an easy and exciting escape from modern life.
