I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Let’s go to the zoo! Sure, you can see more common animals like lions and tigers, and bears, and at Southwick’s Zoo, you may get to see those and a whole lot more. Perhaps, even, a few animals you have never seen in person before. Let’s take a look at this zoo in Massachusetts that the whole family will love.
Southwick's Zoo is a premier destination for animal lovers from all over the northeast and beyond. At 200 acres, it is the largest zoo in New England.
Here is a coatimundi, also referred to as a "coati." These animals are from Central and South America as well as the American Southwest. If you've never seen one of these before, you can at Southwick's.
And if you've never seen one of these adorable creatures in person before, you must! This is an axolotl, a species of amphibian from Mexico that will surely put a smile on your face.
