As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
While I love living near the ocean in the eastern portion of Massachusetts, I have to say that one of my favorite places to visit is located all the way on the opposite side of the state. The Berkshire region in Western, Massachusetts is absolutely stunning and has so many natural wonders and outdoor adventures to enjoy. I always have a blast every time I travel to one of the quaint New England towns that make up this beautiful area. While the Berkshires are particularly pretty in the summer and autumn months, I find myself typically visiting during the wintertime when I am seeking a cozy retreat from my busy everyday life.
Over the years, I have stayed in various hotels and rental properties in the area, but my favorite has been the “Rustic Modern Retreat” rental house, which is located in the town of West Stockbridge. The name "rustic modern" is a perfect way to describe this rental.

The property is located on a quiet lot only a mile from the center of town. It is within driving distance of many popular Berkshires activities and attractions. The town of West Stockbridge has less than 2000 full-time residents, so it is very peaceful and quiet during the winter months.
My family and I stayed at this property for two nights during the month of February. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after the busy holiday season. We spent the day tubing at Ski Butternut, came “home” and snuggled up and watched a show in the cozy living area.
There is a beautiful modern kitchen area that is stocked with pots and pans, dinnerware, kitchen essentials, and a coffee maker. Outside use of the grill is also permitted.
There was plenty of room at the table for everyone.
One of the things that we enjoyed most about this property was the outside firepit. My family had so much fun roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.

We can't wait to return to this special spot again sometime soon!
