Hang Out In An Igloo At This One-Of-A-Kind Massachusetts Wine Bar
One of the best patios in Massachusetts has just gotten a serious winter upgrade. Lock 50 Restaurant and Wine Bar in Worcester has added magical new igloos to their outdoor seating options and they’re the perfect place to curl up with a glass of wine and a meal. Here’s what you should know.

Lock 50 Restaurant and Wine Bar is a beautiful eatery in Worcester. The restaurant is known for its gorgeous patio, but Massachusetts winters are notoriously harsh and the outdoor seating usually closes around October. But now, an array of gorgeous glowing igloos have been installed for the pleasure of diners and drinkers.

The igloos are specially designed to shield customers from all kinds of wintery weather. The walls of the structures are transparent, so you won’t feel claustrophobic, but they’ll keep the cold out and the warmth in. Guests can cozy up under the stars for a full meal, or simply grab a round of drinks.

The restaurant itself boasts a stunning menu filled with meats, pastas, salads, and sweet treats. Indulge in small plates like fried Brussels sprouts or Spanish octopus and treat yourself to entrees like homemade potato gnocchi or whole roasted sea bass. Lock 50 is also a wine bar, so don’t be shy about asking your sever to help you select a glass or bottle.

The igloos are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand for these cool spaces, they have a maximum 2.5-hour use per party. Dinner reservations cannot be made for the igloos at this time, but walk-ins are welcome to request an igloo if one is available. If you want to make sure an igloo is available for your use, you can rent one for $50 per hour.
