After such a cold and rainy winter, I am so excited that spring is finally making an appearance here in Massachusetts. As I see the trees turn from brown to green and discover little pops of colors in my yard, I am motivated to get out and enjoy some hiking once again. I recently discovered the Mountain Meadow Preserve Trail near Williamstown, and it looks like a beautiful place to see some gorgeous wildflowers and stunning scenery.
The Mountain Meadow Preserve is located on the Massachusetts/Vermont border and is accessible through entrances in both states.
The reservation is made up of 180 acres and is owned by the Trustees. There are several different trails within the preserve and so much natural beauty to discover.
The Mountain Meadow Preserve trail is one of the most highly-rated trails within the property. The trail is a 4.5-mile loop that takes about two hours to complete.
The trails at the preserve will also provide you with some beautiful views of the Hoosac Valley and the mountains that surround this gorgeous part of the state.
Please note that it can get quite muddy after the rain or snow. A good pair of waterproof boots may be your best choice of footwear.
While the trails at this property are fairly well-marked, I always err on the side of caution when I am hiking. Referring to the detailed maps and directions on AllTrails+ always gives me peace of mind when I am out in the woods.
Have you visited the Mountain Meadow Preserve Trail? Maybe you know of other beautiful wildflower trails. If so, we would love to hear all about them. More information about the Mountain Meadow Preserve can be found on the Trustees website.
