I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Isn’t it wonderful to live in a state that experiences changing seasons? With spring flowers blooming, water to swim and cool off in the summer, colorful of leaves in the fall, and snow cover in the winter, Massachusetts is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors year-round. One state park that provides a great backdrop to the changing seasons is Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. This gorgeous park is a dream for those who love to be outdoors throughout the year.
There's no state park quite like the 483-acre Maudslay State Park. With its 19th-century gardens and serene natural beauty, it's the perfect place to visit no matter the season. In fact, each season brings with it such a distinct look and feel here.
Let's start with fall, the favorite season for many Bay Staters. With golden and crimson hues of the leaves, Maudslay State Park is as picturesque as can be. Also, with cooler temperatures, this time of year may be an ideal time to hike the park's 16 miles of trails.
During the winter, you will be able to enjoy some peace and quiet and may have parts of the park all to yourself. If the ground is covered in snow, you may want to try cross-country skiing along the park's trails.
After the snow and ice melt and the temperatures begin to rise, the spring season brings a gorgeous array of flowers blooming in the fields and gardens. You may also want to take a hike and look out for the flowering trees.
