Hunting for antiques is a thrilling adventure for many people because you never know what you’re going to find. If antiquing is your thing, head to Essex. This small town might just be the unofficial antique capital of Massachusetts and, perhaps, America as well. Ready for some shopping? Let’s head to Essex!
Welcome to Essex, home to approximately 3,500 residents. It may come as a surprise, but antiquing is the name of the game in this small Massachusetts town.
Head down to the town's Main Street and you'll find several antique stores, all housed in historic buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. It's the perfect place to spend an afternoon searching for your next treasures.
A place like David Neligan Antiques is where you can find English and other European furnishings, home decor, art, and more. It also does appraisals as well if you're curious about the value of an antique you own.
At Perim Lang Antiques, you can find some of the more unusual antiques. If you're looking for something completely out of the norm, peruse the antique pieces here. It is housed inside the former Methodist Episcopal Church.
