Plant Shops In Massachusetts

What are some of the best plant shops in Massachusetts?

  • Russell Orchards (Ipswich): With a bakery, a winery, and a store, it's hard to remember that Russell Orchards is also a family-owned and operated 120-acre fruit farm. The pick-your-own season includes a variety of berries and apples. You can have a picnic on the hillside and stroll through the 2,500-square-foot fruit garden.
  • Berkshire Botanical Garden (Stockbridge): This is one of the oldest botanical gardens in New England, welcoming visitors since 1934. The 24 acres feature many opportunities to appreciate nature, including a Pond Garden, a 1937 Herb Garden, a Daylily Walk, a tree collection, a Children’s Discovery Garden, and a very cool Foster Rock Garden.
  • Tower Hill (Boylston):  Seeing the gardens here is a real delight along the pretty trails. You can sign up for educational programs, see an exhibition, shop, and have a treat from the cafe. This 200-acre garden also includes conservatories and expansive views of the Wachusett Reservoir.
  • Garden in the Woods (Framingham): This is one of Native Plant Trust's beautiful properties, offering a botanic garden with native plants on a glacial landscape. Two miles of winding paths guide you through 45 acres of exotic plants, lush gardens, valleys, a brook, a pond, and wetlands.
  • Smith College Botanic Garden (Northampton): Free guided and unguided tours are available to the 127-acre arboretum, the 6 acres of managed outdoor gardens, and a 12,000-square-foot conservatory.

Where is one of the best farms to visit in Massachusetts?

  • Kimball Farm (Westford): Is this a farm? It offers 50 flavors of delicious homemade ice cream, an outdoor Grill & Seafood Shack, fun activities, and a Country Store & Cafe all on 50 gorgeous acres. Wait - there's more! You can try your hand at mini-golf, a driving range, and batting cages. Take a bumper car, bumper boat, or zipline ride.
