Somewhere on Cape Cod is a magical pathway along an old rail bed. Covered in a soft bed of pine needles along part of this trail, you can walk along in the quiet of nature under a canopy of trees. Hiking through this enchanting tunnel of trees in Massachusetts is not to be missed.
While Provincetown is known mainly for its pristine beaches and bustling downtown along Commercial Street, there are actually quite a few areas in town to go hiking.
One incredible place to go for a hike or a casual nature stroll is along a former railbed that's owned by the town. The Old Colony Nature Pathway can be found between Harry Kemp Way and Railroad Avenue in Provincetown.
This area covers 24 acres of conservation land. This pathway goes through Fox Run, the Dwyer Family Woodlands, Whistle Path Woods, and the Foss Conservation Area.
The Old Colony Nature Pathway is an absolutely magical walk in Cape Cod. Enjoy the pitch pine and the old-growth trees that create a sort of tree tunnel.
