Winter in Massachusetts can be rough, but the Winter Solstice is a time to remember that the days will begin getting longer, and that warmer days are to come. This special day is coming up quickly, and one of our state’s most historic landmarks holds a special event for the solstice. If you’ve ever been to Concord, you’ve probably heard of The Old Manse. This historic landmark is a great piece of history where the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired, and now the preserved building is a special sight to be seen. Every year on the shortest day of the year, you can gather at The Old Manse with other Bay Staters for the Winter Solstice Celebration and celebrate the changing season with a big bonfire, candles, music, and more.
The Old Manse annually holds a Winter Solstice Celebration, and this year it's taking place on December 21st from 6:30p.m. to 9p.m. This celebration event is completely free!
This historic clapboard building holds a lot of America's history. Situated upon the Concord River, the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired right near The Old Manse.
