I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Have you ever looked at a lovely piece of glassware and wondered, “How do you make that?” If you enjoy learning something new and glass-blowing is something you’ve been wanting to try, you can enroll in one of the many classes offered at The Bubble Factory in Essex. You don’t have to be an expert artist either, you just need to have the willingness and desire to learn.
The Bubble Factory is an independent glass studio set in a renovated barn in Essex, Massachusetts. Offering a variety of workshops, a team of expert glassblowers can accommodate and teach any skill level from novice to advanced. Classes are family-friendly, allowing children ages 10 and up to participate.
The studio's workshop prices vary depending on what you want to make. You can choose to learn how to make a bowl. pint glass, stemless wine glass, paperweight, reusable glass straw...
In other classes, you will learn how to manipulate molten glass in the hotshop where the glassblower's furnace is located. You'll learn how glassblowing works as well as how the glass is shaped.
The cost of the workshops includes all materials and you'll get to take home what you made. The Bubble Factory provides a wonderfully unique experience where you can learn a new skill and show off your work of glass art afterward.
The Bubble Factory also sells glassware and art glass pieces, so if you're looking for a unique gift for someone special, consider buying a piece from here. They also offer custom fabrication if you have something specific in mind.
