Road trips with my family inevitably end up including unanticipated stops at gas stations along the way. Somebody always needs a snack, must use the restroom, or forgot to fill the tank with fuel before heading out. These stops are always pretty mundane and never very memorable. But for those who decide to purchase gas at a little Gulf station on Route 20 in Wayland, the experience may be quite the opposite. This unique hidden gem houses a delicious taco stand called Yo!Boca!Taco!
One bite of the food at Yo!Boca!Taco! and your previous views of gas station food will disappear! The cuisine here is amazing - I’m talking about fresh, made-to-order meals made from high-quality, flavorful ingredients. People swear it’s the best taqueria in the state!
The taco stand is run by KC Ueberroth who bought the gas station and then opened the taqueria from scratch. He is friendly and personable and greets customers with a smile and good conversation.
But that’s not all! Yo!Boca!Taco! is also a great place to stop for breakfast. They make delicious breakfast tacos and breakfast burritos as well as flavorful coffee, juices, and horchata (flavored almond milk).
Most customers take their meals to go, but you can also eat at a small counter within the gas station or outside at the picnic table. If you are in a hurry, you can also order ahead online.
The Gulf station also has all of the regular items that you would typically find at a gas station. So whether you make the trip for the tacos or decide to grab a burrito when you come in for a quart of milk, you simply can’t go wrong.
Have you ever dined on gas station cuisine? What did you eat? More information about Yo!Boca!Taco! can be found on the Yo!Boca!Taco! website and the Yo!Boca!Taco! Facebook page.
