For most people, a summer trip to Yarmouth, Massachusetts means beach, beach, and more beach. While I certainly love spending a sunny day at the shore, sometimes I need a little change of pace when visiting Cape Cod. There are so many fantastic things happening in Yarmouth this summer that there is always something fun to do.
One of my favorite summer activities is taking a trip to local farmers’ markets. On Thursday and Saturday summer mornings, you can visit the Bass River Farmer's Market, which is located on Main Street in South Yarmouth.
It is a great place to buy fresh produce, pastries, eggs, and seafood. Some vendors also sell crafts, jewelry, and handmade home decor.
If you are in South Yarmouth on a Monday evening in July or August, you need to check out the Yarmouth Summer Concert Series. Bring your beach chair down to Parkers River Beach and enjoy some great live music.
Yarmouth is also the site of many great summer festivals. The festivities start in June with the nearby annual Cape Cod Pirate Festival and end in September with the Labor Day Weekend Arts & Craft Festival.
For some delicious food and a fun atmosphere, I suggest paying a visit to the Yarmouth House. The seafood here is amazing!
