The One-Of-A-Kind Campground In Massachusetts That You Must Visit Before Summer Ends
If you think you’ve tried all the coolest campgrounds in Massachusetts, you should take a look at this unique canal side camping spot. Located in Bourne, this might be one of the most one-of-a-kind camping locations in the state. Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Bourne Scenic Park.

Bourne Scenic Park is a unique campground and recreation area located on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal. It was founded in 1951 and is still going strong today with over 465 campsites to choose from.

Camping at Bourne Scenic Park provides a plethora of activities and things to do. You can fish, hike nearby trails, rollerblade along the banks of the Cape Cod Canal, or hang out in the recreation hall and participate in the campgrounds scheduled activities for kids and adults. There are also two pools for campers to cool off in.

As far as bedding down, you can choose an old-fashioned tent site (with electric and water hookups) or opt for a more luxurious rustic cabin or lodge. There are hot showers and clean restrooms aplenty, as well as internet access and cable TV. You can light a fire, do some grilling, or pick up supplies at the camp store. Pets are also welcome.

If you feel like wandering further afield, the campground is conveniently located near many local attractions, restaurants, and historic landmarks. It’s only about an hour’s drive to Boston or Providence, and just a quick 30 minute drive to the island ferries.

Rates here are super reasonable, given the gorgeous views and convenient location. The in-season tent rate is $48 daily and the off-season rate (Aug. 31-October 28) is $42. For a rustic cabin, you can expect to pay $76 per night. If you want to stay in a rustic lodge (a larger cabin with water, electricity, and cable), you’re looking at $135 per night in the off-season and $170 per night in-season.
