As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Camping in Massachusetts is beautiful just about anywhere, but the AutoCamp glamp-ground in Cape Cod takes the experience to the next level. The beautifully designed campground features a variety of luxury accommodations including high-end tents and renovated Airstreams, without sacrificing the connection to the natural world.
AutoCamp launched in Falmouth in April 2021 and provides 108 guest accommodations on the 14-acre property. Each Airstream and tent boasts its own seating area and fire pit for the ever-crucial s'mores session.
These are no ordinary Airstreams. The interiors look more like a luxury hotel than a campsite, featuring Tempur-Pedic beds, rain showers, and Instagram-worthy aesthetics. The units have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette area, and sitting area with a fold out couch.
A common clubhouse provides facilities for socializing with other travelers, and common bathroom and kitchen areas for those camping in the glamp-tents. The 8,100 square-foot clubhouse is a Mid-Century Modern dream, bringing the clean look of the campground to a climax with steel, glass and warm Japanese cedar.
The upscale tents are a great alternative to the Airstreams, and tend to run less expensive. Guests use the clubhouse facilities but enjoy a full bed, mini-fridge and storage in these beautifully appointed tents. The whole campground is also on WiFi, a relief from the signal-search common in most camp sites.
Cape Cod abounds with fun outdoor activities and Autocamp has keenly tapped into those experiences. They offer complimentary bikes guests can use to hop on the Shining Sea Bikeway. The path is easily accessible from the camp and winds through Falmouth and Woods Hole, giving visitors car-free access to nearby restaurants, attractions and perhaps most important, ice cream.
Woods Neck Beach is just a six minute bike ride from Autocamp and nearby kayak rentals and schooner tours can take you directly onto the water. Autocamp also offers complimentary outdoor yoga at the campsite for a little natural zen.
The accommodations do have mini-fridges so don't go packing the powdered milk, and AutoCamp also has a General Store on site that sells meal kits and other essentials. With a barbecue kit, you can roast dinner over an open fire and savor the flavors under the stars.
In terms of pricing, off-season accommodations can go as low as $139 a night. During the summer and other peak times, pricing fluctuates. Many accommodations hold multiple people (3-4 often) because of the convenient sofa beds.
AutoCamp Cape Cod offers the chance to connect with nature, without sacrificing all the comforts of modern life. A visual feast and a natural oasis, it nourishes the soul in more ways than one.
