I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!

The Midstate Trail is marked by yellow triangles, so look out for those to make sure you're on the correct trail. However, you have the opportunity to veer off onto other trails for further exploration if you would like.
If you hike the entire length of the trail, you'll pass through the towns of Douglas, Sutton, Oxford, Charleton, Spencer, Leicester, Oakham, Rutland, Barre, Hubbardston, Princeton, Westminster, Ashburnham, and Ashby.
Notable sites along the route include Hodges Village Dam, Moose Hill, and the ruins of a historic work camp. On top of that, the highest point along the way is Mount Wachusett at an elevation of just over 2,000 feet.
While the entire length of the trail is 92 miles, it's easy enough for most people to enjoy. And, of course, you don't have to do the entire trek - you can hike as little or as much of it as you'd like.
