I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Fall is upon us and while heading to the beach and enjoying seafood may not be on our minds, maybe it should. The Wellfleet OysterFest is a much-anticipated small-town fall festival in Massachusetts and it’s one you won’t want to miss.
The town of Wellfleet is world-renowned for its oysters. So it may be unsurprising that this small Cape Cod beach town hosts an annual oyster festival each fall.
Free parking is available at Wellfleet's town beaches (Lecount Hollow, White Crest, and Newcomb Hollow). Shuttle service will be provided to and from the event.

You may be wondering what you can expect at this oyster festival. Well, we can tell you it will be fun and involve famous Wellfleet oysters as well as music, entertainment, family-friendly games, fortune telling, and even a spelling bee!
One of the most exciting parts of the Wellfleet OysterFest is the Oyster Shucking Contest. The preliminaries will be held on Saturday, October 15th from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. while the finals are held on Sunday, October 16th from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on the main stage. Do you have what it takes to win?
