Wingaersheek Beach in West Gloucester is a well-known local hangout. However, visitors from beyond the Cape Ann region may not know about this absolute jewel of a beach.
Besides its soft sand, scenic boulders, and blue waters, this beach is actually a prime spot for finding sand dollars. In fact, it’s one of the best places in the state to hunt for these salty gems.
The best time to look for them is at low tide when more of the sand and tide pools are exposed. Clamber around the rocks to spot any that may be lurked in the shallows.
