There are so many fabulous restaurants in Boston and the surrounding metropolitan areas that I can always find whatever type of food I crave. However, sometimes I wish to forgo the traffic, long waits, and loud city vibes for a quieter, more relaxed meal. I have discovered that great restaurants like Forge and Vine in Groton and Fourth & Field at the Minute Man Air Field in Stow exist outside city limits. While these places may involve a bit of a drive, they consistently serve delicious food. Recently, I stumbled across another hidden gem in the tiny town of Petersham. A visit to the Clamber Hill Inn & Restaurant is definitely worth the drive!
Petersham is a tiny Central Massachusetts town. It has beautiful nature trails and outdoor areas and is chock full of quaint New England charm.
The Clamber Hill Inn & Restaurant is a popular town fixture. Set on 33 acres of scenic woodlands, the historic inn is a romantic place to stay the night. The property’s intimate restaurant is an amazing hidden gem.
If you want to try out this fantastic rural spot, you may have to do a little planning ahead. Tables at this cozy restaurant are only available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. You must also make a reservation.
All meals at Clamber Hill are served “European style.” Guests may take their time to savor their food without feeling rushed. Clamber Hill’s cozy surroundings make it easy to relax and enjoy your company and surroundings.

The restaurant menu is full of dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Appetizers include artichoke dip with crudité, shrimp cocktail, and baked brie with amaretto walnuts.
But the entrees are what make this menu extra special. Pork tenderloin with cherry almond sauce, poached haddock florentine, and roasted duck breast are all popular choices. The restaurant also offers a daily vegetarian special.
And you definitely don’t want to miss out on dessert! The restaurant features different treats seasonally. You can also put in special requests ahead of time.
And there is one more sweet option... the chef at Clamber Hill Inn bakes outstanding New York-style cheesecakes! They can be made to order to take home with you.
Clamber Hill also offers private group dining, special holiday menus, and a casual catering option. The restaurant additionally hosts special events such as wine tastings, wine pairing dinners, and spirits tastings.
