While I always enjoy elegant dishes and delicious international cuisine, I have to say that homemade diner dishes probably top my list of favorite foods. You can’t go wrong with hearty comfort food served in a cozy, warm atmosphere. During my travels this year, I’ve visited some fabulous diners, including the North End Diner in Leominster and In A Pickle in Waltham, where I’ve eaten some of the best diner food in the state. However, I recently discovered Lou Roc’s Diner in Worcester and now need to add this special restaurant to my list of hidden dining gems. Not only does Lou Roc’s have a huge menu filled with traditional diner favorites, but their portions are absolutely massive!
Lou Roc’s is a gem tucked within the city of Worcester. The diner is a family-owned restaurant that is popular among locals and visitors. The menu is delicious, the service is friendly, and the affordable prices for gigantic servings are unheard of!
The weekend lines to get into Lou Roc’s speak volumes about the food inside! That said, you'll experience shorter wait times if you visit on weekdays.
Lou Roc’s provides you with a traditional diner experience. There is barstool seating at the counter and larger parties can eat at one of the diner's wooden booths.
The menu at Lou Roc’s features a ton of breakfast and lunch choices. The food is homemade with fresh ingredients. There are traditional diner favorites as well as weekend specials (which are posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page). A bottomless cup of hot coffee is the perfect complement to any breakfast.
You will likely be leaving with plenty of leftovers to enjoy at home. I suggest bringing along a lunch bag and storage containers.
And lunch items at Lou Roc’s are equally as delicious (and gigantic) as the breakfast choices. Homemade soups and chowders, salads, burgers, and a plethora of hot and cold sandwiches are just some of the items you may want to try.
Have you visited this fantastic diner? If so, please tell us about your visit. More information about hours and menu items can be found on the Lou Roc’s Diner website and the Lou Roc’s Diner Facebook page.
