Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese is the perfect example of a restaurant focused on doing one thing well and completely blowing all the competition out of the water.
Grilled cheese is a classic comfort food – gooey, savory, buttery and just a touch sweet. It’s rare that you find more than one grilled cheese on a menu, but this place puts the spotlight squarely on the cheesy sandwiches. And they’re amazing.
Roxy’s started in 2011 as a food truck operation in Brighton. People loved their grilled cheese sandwiches so much, they ended up opening four brick-and-mortar shops.
The flavor combos here are insane. Try the Mighty Rib Melt wit fontina cheese, braised short rib and caramelized onion for a carnivorous treat. Indulge in The Allston for a hit of herbed goat cheese, fig jam, caramelized onions and arugula.
Seriously, people absolutely rave about the sandwiches here. The secret? They spread mayo on the outside of the sandwiches before grilling. Plus, they only use the freshest ingredients.
Does the word “gourmet” make your wallet nervous? No worries. You can get their classic grilled cheese for a mere $4.50. Grab a fully loaded sandwich for under $8.
Vegan? Dairy allergy? No problem! Roxy’s offers a full selection of vegan grilled cheeses, made with Daiya cheese. Plant eaters don’t have to feel left out at Roxy’s.
They also offer an awesome variety of tater tots and poutine, including “loaded” tots that come with rosemary, white truffle oil, smoked gouda cheese and bacon.
You can find Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese in Allston, South Boston and Lynnfield. A Central Square location is coming soon. The Allston shop is located at 485 Cambridge Street, Allston.
