Here are 15 reasons why Massachusetts is truly the best state in the nation.
1. We're pretty much the birthplace of the nation. So there's that.
2. Our fried seafood trumps all other fried seafood. Scientifically verified.
3. Our sports teams win championships like it's their job.
4. I mean, we’re running out of fingers for all this jewelry.
5. We understand sarcasm and how to wield it better than anyone.
6. We have mountains, seashores, valleys, lakes, rivers, meadows, forests and everything in between. Variety is the spice of life.
7. Our drivers may be sort of rude, but they get the job done.
8. It’s the birthplace of Fig Newtons! Everyone’s favorite snack to forage out of Grandma’s cupboard.
9. Western Mass. is basically divine territory.
10. Central Mass. has a beauty all its own.
11. And the eastern coast is like some sort of seaside paradise.
12. Fall here cannot be rivaled. The foliage is just so gorgeous.
13. But then again, the spring lilacs and hydrangeas are sort of breathtaking.
14. We’re a state of firsts. Massachusetts gave America its first public library, public park, university, newspaper, lighthouse, navy ship, printing press, novel, railroad, typewriter…and so on.
15. Not to mention, we gave the world basketball and volleyball.
16. Cheap, awesome lobster. Good luck finding lobster that’s affordable AND tasty in landlocked states.
17. Our gorgeous lighthouses have been inspiring postcard for generations.
18. It's pretty much like living in a pop-up history book. There's a historic landmark around every corner.
19. Community is everything. We stand by our neighbors, because the people here are what makes this state truly great.
