This sleepy-looking baseball field in rural Massachusetts may not look like anything special, but it’s a true piece of sports history. Fuller Field in Clinton, Massachusetts is the holder of the "Oldest Baseball Field in Continuous Use" record according to the Guiness Book of World Records.

This humble field has been hosting baseball games since all the way back in 1878. That’s right – there’s been at least one baseball game (and usually many more) at Fuller Field per year for 140 years. Generations of Bay Staters have flocked to Fuller Field to play ball, catch a game, eat hot dogs, and cheer for the home team for more than a century.

This diamond is the only place in the world where you can play on the same dirt and run the same bases as players from the very first days of baseball. The field is so old that its original plans were found on an oilcloth survey map that had been stuffed in the back of a closet.

Today the field is mostly used by Little Leaguers. It’s set a cute small town down the street from an array of quaint shops, and can boast of hosting at least one Hall of Fame baseball player – Tim Keefe. You can still see plenty of baseball games played on the field, and if you’re a local, chances are that your grandparents have a favorite spot in the bleachers.
