I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Historical sites can be found everywhere throughout the Bay State, and some historic buildings have been repurposed into something completely different. Located on the Mill River in the town of Hatfield, The Old Mill Inn was once what its name suggests – an old mill. If you’re the type who enjoys both history and unique accommodations, an overnight stay at this historic inn in Massachusetts may be perfect for you.
The Old Mill Inn started out as a grist mill in 1870. After that, it became a gun machining shop, an office building, and eventually a bed and breakfast. Today it is an upscale boutique inn.
Offering nine rooms and three guests suites, as well as views of the river and waterfall from select rooms, you can enjoy several in-room amenities. Each room and suite has its own private bath as well as HDTV, WiFi, and new furnishings.
One of the nine upscale rooms, The Whately Room, has muted tones, modern decor, and a cozy feel. And there are two twin beds, perfect for a friend's weekend away.
The Hadley Room offers a queen bed and a small seating area. It's a room that offers a lovely place to relax and unwind after spending time exploring the area during the day.
As for the suites, The Hatfield Suite is one of the three. If you're in need of a bigger space, this one-bedroom suite has it all. Complete with a well-appointed kitchen, a queen bed, large closet, and a deck overlooking the falls, you may want to stay here forever!
On site, you'll also find The Old Mill Cafe and Bar which is open to both guests and the public. Serving an array of pastries and baked goods, coffee drinks, smoothies, sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch, soups, and more, the cafe is a wonderful amenity to have.
