What are the most haunted places in Massachusetts?

The Lizzie Borden House is most certainly haunted. But there are many more haunted places in Massachusetts:

S.K. Pierce Mansion: Located in Gardner, this Victorian 26-room mansion was built in 1875. From the outside, it looks pretty inviting, but stepping inside is a whole other story. From strange voices to slamming doors to weird smells, this place has a lot of activity. I love Victorian mansions myself, even the haunted ones.

House of Seven Gables: Built in 1668, this house is located in Salem. With its connection to Nathaniel Hawthorne, who was the great-great-grandson of Judge Hathorne, the judge in the 1692 witch trials, it’s no surprise that there have been reports of weird shadows all throughout, and even a young boy near the attic area.

Are there any abandoned towns in Massachusetts?

The Lizzie Borden House in Massachusetts is a great place to investigate ghosts. But you can also take it to a whole other level by visiting some abandoned towns in Massachusetts:

Catamount: You may know this as the name of the 199-acre ski resort in Hillsdale, but from the early 1800s until 1967, this was a farming community. It was later designated as Catamount State Forest, which is pretty much abandoned for the most part, but you can certainly take in nature here.

Davis: Formerly home to the Davis Pyrite Mine, a pretty large community for the time, when the mine collapsed in 1911, the community itself began to clear out. Today, it is now part of the town of Rowe.

Are there any haunted hotels in Massachusetts?

Stay the night and immerse yourself in Lizzie Borden House haunted history or check out these haunted hotels in Massachusetts:

The Hawthorne Hotel: Many places in Salem are rumored to be haunted and this one is no exception. It opened way back in 1925 and since then, there have been numerous reports of such occurrences as phantom crying children, a female ghostly figure, toilets flushing and sinks running with no one around, and whole lot more. I did not get to visit this spot when I did a Salem trip, but it’s on the list for my next visit!=

Longfellow’s Wayside Inn: Built in 1703, this hotel is located in Sudbury. Over the years, it has been reportedly haunted by the original owner’s sister. She is to be found within rooms 9 and 10 and tends to bother male guests more than females.
