I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Just because the winter is here doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Between all the snow tubing, skiing, winter hiking, ice skating, and winter festivals in Massachusetts, you’ll find plenty of exciting adventures all season long. In 2022, the much-anticipated annual Lowell WinterFest is coming back and it’s guaranteed to be an incredibly fun time for the whole family.
The much-anticipated Lowell WinterFest will be held February 18-19, 2022 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Get ready for plenty of family-friendly activities, festivities, food, and fun!
This is one festival every Bay Stater should attend at least once in their lives. You can expect to enjoy live music, ice skating, games, a carousel, a winter market, plenty of entertainment, a soup competition, and even an all-you-can-eat chocolate festival.
Kids and adults alike will love taking a spin on the carousel. And that's just one of the many family-friendly activities offered at the Lowell Winterfest.
One of the most popular events at Winterfest is the annual Soup Competition. Sample soups from a variety of area restaurants and then vote for your favorite. This is indeed the most delicious type of competition!
On the Saturday of this event, there will also be an All You Can Eat Chocolate Festival at St. Anne's Episcopal Church. For a mere $10 at the door, you can eat all the chocolate you can. There will also be prizes and raffles.
Lace up a pair of skates and go skating (for free) on the ice at JFK Plaza. Just bring a pair of hockey or figure skates with you! If you prefer not to skate, there's a heated outdoor seating area for your comfort.
Head to the winter market to shop for handmade art and crafts items, clothing, antiques, and specialty foods. Guaranteed you'll find goods here that you won't find elsewhere.
When you start to feel hungry, head on over to the WinterFest Food Truck Alley where you'll find numerous food trucks serving delicious eats. Once you grab your order, take a seat and enjoy the live music or entertainment being performed around you.
