I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Massachusetts is full of stunning places to hike, There are numerous trails that lead to waterfalls, rivers, dunes overlooking the ocean, mountaintop views, and more. If you enjoy trekking through mountainous terrain with a reward of panoramic views at the summit, consider Laura’s Tower Trail in the charming historic town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Nestled in the Berkshires in the town of Stockbridge, Laura's Tower Trail is a 1.8-mile out-and-back trail that is rated moderate.
This is not your average hike through the woods as there are many fascinating things to see along the way. You will first cross a lovely bridge that spans across the Housatonic River.
You'll then cross over a set of old railroad tracks before heading straight into the woods filled with pine and hemlock trees, and eventually, birch and laurel which create an enchanted feel along the way.
If you decide to take the shorter Ice Glen Trail as well, you can trek through the area of boulder outcroppings known as Ice Glen. If you have children with you, they may have fun climbing these giant rocks!
From the top of the tower, you will be able to view quite a bit of the Berkshires including Mount Greylock. On the clearest of days, you can even see the Catskills of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont.
Are you ready to head out on a hike with incredible views? Before heading out, make sure to grab sunscreen if you need it and tick spray. For more information on Laura’s Tower Trail in Stockbridge, visit the AllTrails webpage.
