I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
We love our dining options here in the Bay State! And when it comes to historic restaurants, there are plenty of those around. But one unique restaurant in Massachusetts that occupies a historic building not only has delicious food but gives guests something free. Let’s take a look at the 1761 Old Mill.
The 1761 Old Mill Restaurant & Cracker Barrel Pub occupies a historic former sawmill and has all the rustic charms one could ever hope for.
The food here is tasty with fresh, classic New England dishes served. Enjoy everything from New England clam chowder and fried calamari to seafood dishes, duck, ravioli, and more.
The corn fritters are served with some ooey, gooey maple syrup that makes them seem more like dessert than an accompaniment for a meal. They are absolutely delicious!
And then there are the pecan rolls which are also free with your meal. They have become so well-known that people will come to this restaurant just to try them!
