These 13 Incredible Farmers Markets In Massachusetts Are A Must Visit

This giant market is the perfect place for a fun and summery family outing. The wares are super fresh and the farmers are more than willing to explain hw their food is grown. The Bradley Farm, Berkshire Mountain Bakery, Windy Ridge Farm and Cricket Creek Farm all attend this awesome market. Fresh fruit, greens, and veggies abound! The market is open on Wednesday (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.), May to October.

Though they operate as more of a country store than a farmer's market, Brookfield Farms offers some of the most delicious seasonal apple products in the state. Sample their delectable turnovers and dumplings, or head out into the orchards to pick your own fruit.

Located right at the Prudential Center in Boston, this farmers market is great for those looking to get some downtown shopping done AND score some great produce. Hopestill Farm has been growing tasty produce since the 1600s! Their traveling farm stand operates around Sherborn and offers a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Check out their main digs in Sherborn.

Also known as the NoHo farmers market, this is a great summer and winter market for yummy local fare. It's been going strong for 40 years! Stop by for really tasty maple syrup, locally picked mushrooms, fresh eggs, tangy sauerkraut, tempeh, dried and fresh herbs, pork, chicken and lamb It's open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and located at 18 Church Street, about half a block from Main Street.

This is a permanent and year-round (indoor!) farmer's market that brings together over 39 vendors. More than just fruits and veggies, this market works with local gourmet chefs and artisans to deliver incredible chocolate creations, wonderful pastries, and unique canned and fermented foods. The cheeses and breads are also superb. Stop by Wednesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. year-round.

Located in the scenic Back Bay neighborhood, this amazing market is smack dab in front of the stunning Trinity Episcopal Church. It's a great way for urbanites to get their weekly dose of fresh veggies without leaving the city. Stop by every Tuesday and Friday (11 a.m. - 6 p.m.) from May to November. While there's plenty of fresh farm produce, the Plymouth market actually hosts frequent cooking demos by local chefs and regular live music. Make it a day trip and bring the whole family. This great little market is held from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday from June through November.
