October may be over, but there are still several weeks left to enjoy some fun autumn activities in Massachusetts. Although I’ve already packed a lot of fun into this season, I still have a few events to check off my fall bucket list. A busy Halloween in Salem has left me a little drained, and right now some wine and relaxation sound very appealing. A fall tour and tasting at Nashoba Valley Winery, Distillery, Brewery & Restaurant is next on my seasonal list.
This beautiful winery is such a fun place to spend an afternoon! Nashoba Valley is the state’s leading fruit wine producer and is one of the most popular wineries in all of Massachusetts.
Nashoba Valley Winery has won multiple awards for its products.
The winery and orchard sit on over 50 acres of gorgeous farmland. The property is particularly stunning during the autumn months when the foliage blankets the area in colorful hues.
The farm produces much of the fruit that is used to make the delicious Nashoba Valley beverages. You can also pick-your-own fruit here! The orchard grows several varieties of apples. Peaches and nectarines can also be picked during other seasons of the year.
There apple picking season is still going strong at Nashoba Valley, so be sure to get your apples before the weather turns cold!

Nashoba Valley offers over 30 delicious types of wines as well as seltzers, wine spritzers, beer, hard ciders, and canned cocktails. You can enjoy a traditional Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon or a fruit-based strawberry rhubarb wine.
Not sure which wine to purchase? Why not sample a few (or more)? When you book a tasting at Nashoba’s new Pavilion Tasting Room you can try up to eight varieties. You also get to take home a wine glass as a souvenir.
If you are interested in learning more about the wine making process, I highly recommend taking a tour of the facility. On this tour, an expert guide will teach you all about how the wine is made and you will get to see where it is produced and stored.
Tours are 45 minutes long and include some sampling of Nashoba’s delicious wine.
There are also two fabulous restaurants on-site at the farm. Vintner’s Knoll is an outdoor eatery that offers sandwiches, flatbreads, tacos, wraps, and other lunch items. It is a fantastic spot to sit back with a glass of vino and take in the colorful autumn scenery.
You can often watch local bands perform here on the weekends.
You can also choose to dine indoors at J’s Restaurant. Housed in a restored farmhouse, J’s is the perfect location to gather with friends to enjoy farm-to table cuisine and Nashoba Valley beverages.
If you enjoyed your visit here and would like to explore other local wineries, I suggest taking a visit to Cape Cod Winery in East Falmouth and Boston Winery in Boston. Planning on spending the night in the beautiful Nashoba Valley area? The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Boston-Marlboro is a convenient and affordable place to stay.
