I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As someone who spends their summers on Cape Cod, I love spending time exploring all the quaint little towns. Chatham happens to be one of those towns I love exploring. With its Main Street that just oozes with small-town charm, it’s hard not to fall in love with Chatham. And when I have the kids with me, there’s one place we must stop (aside from an ice cream shop, of course) — Where The Sidewalk Ends Children’s Annex is a cozy store full of children’s games, toys, and, most importantly, books! This children’s bookstore in Chatham, Massachusetts is as adorable as can be.
While independent bookstores aren't as common as they once were, you can certainly still find them. One family-owned independent bookstore that's such a delight to visit is Where the Sidewalk Ends on Main Street in Chatham.
Between the main portion of Where the Sidewalk Ends and the Children's Annex is a deck that connects the two. On the covered deck, there may be a display of children's books along with play sets that kids can certainly explore.
The Children's Annex will be your kids' new favorite bookstore. Not only are there several unique titles along with classic storybooks but puzzles, games, stuffed animals, and more.
During the summer months, the store hosts storytimes! Check the website for the schedule before you go if your children would like to attend a storytime.
