Operating out of a little storefront in Boston's South End, this place is actually the only artisanal doughnut shop in the city that bakes on site.
Blackbird serves two types of doughnuts: raised (the classic kind) and cake doughnuts.
Perhaps most importantly, Blackbird Doughnut is pretty much the only place you can find a doughnut ice cream sandwich. Pure summer heaven.
This is a small shop that doesn't have indoor seating, though you're welcome to sit on their benches outside and devour their wares in the sunshine.
They don’t stop at dessert, though. Blackbird also specializes in incredible savory doughnuts.
And they’re definitely not afraid of inventive flavors. For example, their Everything Bagel doughnut is a savory take on another classic breakfast ring.
Their pizza doughnut is a delicious compromise between lunch and dessert.
Flavors are always changing, but the price per donut stays the same: $3 per donut, or $3 for 3 powdered or cinnamon sugar donuts.
Having a party? Order a box of their mini doughnuts to please all in attendance. Or just be the office hero on a Monday morning.
