I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
When you visit Mike’s Pastry in Boston’s North End, it’s quite typical to see, on any given day, a line out the door. While Mike’s offers a wide variety of delectable goodies including gelato, it’s their cannoli that have the real cult following in Massachusetts. So, if you’re a fan of cannoli, there’s no better place to get some than at Mike’s Pastry.
Since 1946, Mike's Pastry in the North End of Boston has been a fixture. This Italian bakery and pastry shop has also established quite a cult following especially for one type of pastry it offers.
Michael "Mike" Mercogliano, who founded Mike's Pastry, created a unique type of cannoli that you just can't find anywhere else. Over time, word spread and his shop became a popular place to purchase this sweet Italian treat.
On any given day, you may see a line out the door to Mike's Pastry. Not only do Bostonians love the cannoli here but so do tourists from all over the globe.
However, Mike's offers such a wide variety of cannoli flavors that it's hard to choose just one. From mint chocolate chip to strawberry, espresso, Nutella, Oreo, amaretto, and more, you'll want to try them all!
You can't leave Mike's Pastry without taking home several cannoli (and perhaps a few other pastries) in one of the signature boxes tied in string. It's another part of what makes visiting this famous Italian bakery so special.
