Main Street at Christmas is the enchanting yearly festival that turns the little town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts into a holiday wonderland.
The portion of Main Street featured in the Rockwell painting is actually closed to vehicle traffic, so that visitors can wander around and enjoy the classic holiday scene.
Elements from the painting are faithfully duplicated in real life, from twinkling Christmas trees in particular windows to real vintage cars parked in special spots along the road.
The weekend-long festival attracts thousands of visitors each year with heart-warming events like caroling, Christmas performances, and plenty of yummy holiday treats.
