If you grew up in Massachusetts, odds are you’ve visited Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls in the summertime to view all of the incredible flowers. What some people don’t know is that this former trolley bridge turned flower walk is especially pretty in the fall. While you walk through the paths filled with amazing flowers, you’ll be graced by the surrounding fall foliage that reflects upon the water. For a fun outing in fall in the Bay State, you need to head over to Bridge of Flowers for the best scenic, colorful autumn views.
Welcome to the picturesque spot known as Bridge of Flowers!
This former trolley bridge is a historic spot that connected the towns of Shelburne Falls and Buckland, and the well-known Mohawk Trail goes right through it.
There's truly nothing like this spot. The trolley bridge was built in 1908, but could only hold 20-tons, which is not very much for transporting goods.
After going bankrupt in 1927, the bridge became riddled with weeds, and the late resident Antoinette Burnham had the idea to turn it into a flower bridge.
Now, this unique floating garden is the only of its kind. While you probably have fond memories of visiting in the summer, this spot truly comes to life in the fall.
Visiting Bridge of Flowers in the fall to see all of the beautiful fall foliage is truly an unforgettable experience. This spot has been visited by many photographers and painters, and you need to see the beauty up close this autumn.
