I’m looking for some unique things to do around Boston.

There are several cities and states around the country that claim to be “the weirdest,” which to them is a badge of honor. But in Boston, even though it doesn’t have that moniker, it still has some unique things to do. For example, there’s a unique “homemade” shrine called All Saints Way. It’s loaded with artwork, lights, flowers, figurines, and other things all relating to saints. Another bizarre place to visit is The Skinny House. It is said to have been built as the result of a dispute between two brothers back in the mid-1800s. Who knows who won the argument, but the house has remained since that time and is one of the most photographed spots in the city.

Are there any day trips around Massachusetts I can take by train?

Absolutely, and trains are a great way to explore the state while leaving the car at home. If you want to have an upscale train adventure, it's definitely worth the hour and 15 minute drive (you have to get to the train, after all) south to Hyannis. That is where you can climb aboard the Cape Cod Dinner train. The luxury here comes in three varieties: First Class, Diamond Class, and Platinum Class. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget.
