So, you’ve eaten meatloaf and you’ve tried a club sandwich, but have you ever experienced a meatloaf club? This unusual dish is available at one Boston eatery, and after you’ve sampled it, you’re bound to become a convert.
Parish Café has two locations, one is in Back Bay at 361 Boylston Street, and the other in South End at 493 Massachusetts Avenue.
The restaurant first opened in 1992 and has always been a little different. See, the menu was crafted by multiple top Boston chefs, who were each asked to create a signature sandwich for Parish Café.
These include Chef Jason Bond of Bondir (who invented the Bondir Brisket for the café) and Chef Michael Scelfo of Alden and Harlow.
However, it was Parish Café owner, Sean Simmons, who came up with the restaurant’s meatloaf club sandwich.
The dish features a wedge of well-seasoned chipotle meatloaf with lettuce, tomato, applewood-smoked bacon, and a chipotle aioli for a little extra kick.
This hearty meal is accompanied by garlic mashed taters and gravy. Comfort food at its finest!
Parish Café has received plenty of acclaim – and for good reason.
In addition to savory sandwiches, the restaurant offers a delectable ice cream sandwich for dessert.
The beer menu is extensive. Some are available on tap…
…but it’s the vast selection of bottled beer that’s a draw.
As a city, Boston has a reputation for shutting down early. That's not so here. The full menu is available until 1:00 a.m.. so if a craving for a meatloaf club strikes at midnight, you’re in luck!
Although Parish Café is appealing year-round, the patio at the Boylston location is a real bonus for fans of al fresco dining in the summer.
