The 1980s were a decade of memorable fashion mistakes… er, choices… and music we’ll love for years to come. There are plenty of moments that have probably stuck with you if you grew up in this decade, from the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Challenger Explosion, to the launch of MTV. 1. Everyone knew our name.

Cheers first aired in September 1982 and, although it floundered initially, the Boston-based show went on to become one of the most beloved TV shows ever made.
2. Boston Harbor's "before" and "after."

Judge David Mazzone ruled that: "the law secures to the people the right to a clean harbor." That judgement launched a public works project that transformed Boston Harbor from one of the dirtiest in the country to one of the cleanest.
3. We cheered on the Celtics...

4. The first J. P. Licks opened in... well, JP.

5. Trident Booksellers and Café was born in 1984.
