I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Whether it’s getting lost in a mystery or romance, thumbing through the pages of a classic or biography, or checking out a how-to or a self-help book, libraries are a wealth of discovery. If you love reading, there is one dream library in Massachusetts you have to visit. The Boston Athenaeum is a magical place for book lovers of all ages.
The beautiful Boston Athenaeum was founded in 1807 and is one of the most revered independent libraries in the country.
This one-of-a-kind library is certainly worth a visit if you happen to be in Boston. Between its gorgeous architecture, history, books, art, and more, you'll walk around in amazement.
While this library is certainly a book lovers' dream, it's also a dream for historians. Aside from housing amazing works of literature and rare books, the Athenaeum is also home to numerous fine art and artifacts from across the globe.
In all, this library has 12 floors of bookshelves, reading rooms, and exhibition halls. While this is a membership library, you can inquire about a day pass on the website.
