To begin with, the zip line tour is one of the most impressive in all of New England. There are 25 zip lines that make up this exciting network of tours to choose from.
The Valley Jump Tour is the most popular of all and begins with a picturesque chairlift to the top of the mountain. From there, you'll be harnessed into your zip equipment and gravity will do the rest!
The zip line tour continues as you arrive at X1 and X2, two of the longest zip runs in all of America. X1 will take you from one mountain to the next, with unforgettable views to enjoy along the way. X2, which totals almost .5 miles, will take you back to Berkshire East at a speed of 50 m.p.h. These lines are doubled, which means you can even race a friend or family member along the way.
Next up on the list of exciting attractions at Berkshire East is the famous Thunderbolt Mountain Coaster. The 1,580 feet ascent through the woods and up the mountain will get your heart pumping as you draw closer and closer to the peak.
Each cart features a braking system, which will give passengers more control over the speed of the descent. The minimum passenger age is 3, so you can include the whole family.
Once you're ready to cool off, you can head down to the Deerfield River for a guided whitewater rafting adventure.
Berkshire Whitewater offers daily tours for various levels of adventurers. Depending on the segment of the river you choose, you can enjoy nonstop class III rapids or a more gentle and scenic float.
Daily rafting trips are available from April until October. Visitors can choose from Fife Brook (I-III rapids), Monroe Bridge (II-IV rapids), or a scenic afternoon float trip, which is ideal for families with younger children.
