Beachfront Restaurants In Massachusetts
What are some of the best seafood restaurants in Massachusetts?
As a coastal state, Massachusetts arguably has some of the best seafood in the country. There’s an unassuming restaurant in Winthrop called Belle Isle Seafood. The interior looks like that of a warehouse, but don’t let that fool you - this place cooks up some incredibly fresh seafood and the lobster roll is particularly drool-worthy. If you happen to be on the Cape (Cod, that is) head to Moby Dick’s in Wellfleet. With all the clam shacks found all over the peninsula, this is an incredibly popular one and you will see why after having any seafood dish or lobster.
Where can I find incredible scenic views in Massachusetts?
For panoramic sea and Cape Cod views, climb to the top of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown. This imposing observation tower is the tallest structure in Cape Cod at 252 feet and the views are absolutely worth the climb. Up top, you can see the curvature of the peninsula on the bayside, Commercial Street down below, and the tip of the Cape in the distance. There’s also a lovely museum here, so make sure you set aside enough time to explore that plus climb to the top of the monument. If you love to hike, then head to Holyoke and follow the Bray Lake Loop Trail, a scenic pathway with lake views, creeks, footbridges, and an overlook where you can have a birds-eye view of the gorgeous Berkshires and Connecticut Valley.
Where can I find the best beach towns in Massachusetts?
There are plenty of beach towns in the Bay State, from Cape Ann to Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, and many others in between. Starting in the North Shore, Rockport is as picturesque as can be with gorgeous water views, streets lined with shops and seafood restaurants and colonial homes. In the southern part of the Boston Harbor is Hull where you can explore a historic fort or lounge along Nantasket Beach. You will feel worlds away here. Scituate offers a lively downtown as well as tranquil harbor beaches to explore. Read our post, These 10 Charming Waterfront Towns In Massachusetts Are Perfect For A Daytrip, for more.
