Massachusetts isn’t lacking is stunning places to explore. When it comes to finding somewhere gorgeous to unwind in nature, locals and travelers have plenty of options. However, there are a few outdoor spots that offer something special. Hale Reservation in Westwood definitely serves a second (or first) look.
Hale Reservation is one of Massachusetts' most overlooked natural gems.
Hale Reservation is a beautiful natural space in Westwood. It is a private nonprofit that welcomes the public into its lush reservation. It’s home to three ponds with lovely sandy beaches that will enchant you.
The ponds have designated swimming areas that are safe for kids, and plenty of floating docks to check out the water from. The water is clean, clear, and a lovely bright blue hue on sunny days. Since the reservation is something of a hidden gem, you won’t have to compete with too many other visitors for prime patches of sandy.
You can use the beaches for picnicking, lodging, or playing free of charge. If you’d like to swim or boat, you can pick up a day pass for a small fee per person.
