Celebrate Winter Fest In Oakland, Maryland's Coldest And Snowiest Town

Winter doesn’t have to be all dreary. There are actually quite a few events happening in Maryland during this time of year, including Oakland’s annual Winter Fest. This fun event is sure to put some pep in your step with intricate ice sculptures, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a wine walk, and more! Save the date, bundle up, and enjoy a day among the ice.
You'll need to head all the way west to find the town of Oakland, Maryland.
Oakland is actually Maryland's coldest and snowiest town, but they don't let the frigid temperatures get them down.
In fact, they celebrate wintertime at the annual Winter Fest. This year the festival will take place on Saturday February 15th from 10am until 4pm.
Head downtown to witness intricate ice creations take form, from start to finish.

When you're not marveling over the icy artwork...
...you can also take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through town. The rides are free and will take place from 11am until 3pm.
Although the temperatures outside will be chilly, you can warm up your insides by participating in the wine walk.
Tickets for the wine walk are $15 per person and will include about a dozen stops to sample vino. You can purchase tickets for the walk below, or at the event.
