Everyone’s heard about the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore but did you know that there are a few other zoos in the Old Line State worth checking out? These hidden gems are usually only known to locals, but we think the word deserves to be out! The following spot is known for its intimate atmosphere, happy and healthy animals, and is absolutely adored by the surrounding community. Read on to see what makes Plumpton Park Zoo a very special place in Maryland.
You'll have to travel northeast to find Plumpton Park Zoo, which is located in Rising Sun.
Keep an eye out for signs along Route 273, Telegraph Road.

Plumpton Park Zoo covers a lot more area than you may think.
