Spending too much time in Maryland isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, most of us prefer it. But there may be tell-tale signs that prove you’ve been living in the Free State for quite a while. Here are 10 signs that you have spent way too much time in Maryland.
1. You run to the grocery store as soon as you hear a snow storm is coming.
Even though you know nothing will be left by the time you get there.
2. The rare times that there's an actual tornado warning, you laugh it off.
"That never happens here!" you say.
3. But then you awake the next morning and your yard looks like this.
"Wait. So we CAN get tornadoes in Maryland?"
4. You don't even notice how you put an extra "R" in words.
Warsh is just how we say it here, okay?!
5. Any time you're trying to figure out how long it will take to get somewhere, you always add 30 extra minutes in case of traffic.
Because Maryland traffic taught us to always overestimate.
6. You're an expert at dodging potholes after the winter.
The road is basically an obstacle course.
7. You assume anyone who is wearing purple is a Ravens fan.
Doesn't even have to be a sports jersey. As soon as we see purple, that's where our minds go.
8. You cannot fathom it when someone says they don't like seafood.
It's a Maryland staple.
9. Even when you're witnessing the National Anthem out-of-state, you make sure to remind people that it was created in Maryland.
Because your head is most likely filled with tons of random Maryland facts.
10. You feel bad for other states, because you know their flag pales in comparison to this one.
Bold and full of pride.
Are you guilty of spending too much time in Maryland? What would you add to this just for fun list?
