Did you know that one of Maryland’s magical waterfalls is straight out of a storybook? In 2002, Disney brought the iconic novel, Tuck Everlasting, to the big screen. If you’ve ever seen the film then you may recognize the following enchanting spot that was filmed right here in the Old Line State.
Harford County is home to Rocks State Park. This expansive park features gorgeous hiking trails, natural rock outcroppings, and the beautiful Kilgore Falls.
While most locals visit for the scenery, movie buffs have been known to travel here for a glimpse of one of the most magical film moments.
A scene from Tuck Everlasting was filmed at Kilgore Falls for the 2002 film.
After Winnie Foster runs away from a fictitious town called Treegap, Maryland, she meets a family of immortals. She falls in love with a boy known as Jesse Tuck and in one particular scene, they share a romantic swim at the base of the falls.
In warmer months, you too can take a dip under the falling water. It's a surreal, refreshing experience.
If you do visit during summer, arrive early to avoid to crowds. Or check out this spot during autumn for an even more stunning, colorful experience.
