Love seafood? Sometimes it’s the hidden, underrated spots that have some of the best. If you’re ever in the Emmitsburg area, be sure to check out Rube’s Crab Shack. It may not look like much from the outside, but it has some of the tastiest steamed crabs, shrimp po’boys, and more.
You can find Rube's Crab Shack along Route 15, nestled near the Pennsylvania border.
Be on the lookout for this crabby sign...
...and this little building. Just remember that looks can be deceiving, for there's a whole lot of flavor found within.
Rube's has a classic crab shack atmosphere, with brown paper table covers, buckets, and mallets. All the better to serve you steamed crabs, of course.
Order up! The steamed crabs are full of seasoning, and many people rave over the sizes. You can feel like you're getting your money's worth here.
Prefer a sandwich? How about a soft shell crab that's perfectly crisp and overflowing over the bread?
This place even has shrimp po'boys and WOW are they giant and scrumptious.
Can't decide what to order? Then simply try a little bit of everything. We won't judge.
Lastly, don't forget to pair your incredible seafood meal with a tropical beverage. Rube's makes amazing, unique drinks that are perfect for summertime and beyond.
So remember... next time you see a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, don't be so quick to pass it by. You just may be missing out on one of the best meals ever.
