The One Of A Kind Festival You Won't Find Anywhere But Maryland

Warm weather is here, which means so is festival season. When planning which Maryland festivals to visit this year, consider putting the following event on your list. Who knows – you may even scratch something off your own bucket list while here.
Most Marylanders have heard of Preakness, but did you know that there's an annual hot air balloon event celebrating the return of Preakness Stakes?
From May 18th to 20th, Howard County Fairgrounds will host the Preakness Celebration Balloon Festival. Come and witness the sights of colorful hot air balloons surrounding you.
You can even experience a ride for yourself! Tethered rides rise up to 80 feet for a period of five minutes, giving you great views in a more controlled fashion. Price is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
Or if you're feeling extra adventurous, go up, up and away on a ride lasting 30-45 minutes. Cost is $235 per person and you must register in advance. For more information, click here .
Plan to stay at the event until after sunset, as the balloons appear to glow against the night sky.
Since the festival is being held at the fairgrounds this year, there will also be plenty of food, games, and other activities to keep you and your family occupied.
