Maryland has many unique spots that make it stand out from the rest of the United States. One of the most magical places in the Old Line State can be found in Baltimore’s Patterson Park. This enchanting place looks like it belongs on a completely different continent. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to check out this remarkable place in Maryland.
Built in 1891, this structure used to be called the Patterson Park Observatory.
It sat quietly abandoned in the middle of Patterson Park for decades. Then, thanks to restoration efforts, it was officially fixed-up once more and reopened in 2002.
You would think this astounding pagoda would be found in another country, but it's right here in Baltimore, and is undoubtedly one of the most unique spots in Maryland.
You can catch views of the Pagoda year-round but if you want to go inside, make sure to plan ahead. The Pagoda is open to visitors every Sunday from noon to 6pm, April through October. For more information, visit the website here.
